Terms of Service
Last updated: May 11, 2026
These terms govern your access to and use of GermanMarkt. By creating an account or placing an order you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
GermanMarkt is an online marketplace that connects buyers in Egypt with independent delivery partners who travel between Europe and Egypt. Buyers place cash-on-delivery orders for products sourced from European retail chains (currently DM, Rossmann, and Action). Delivery partners purchase the items in Europe, carry them on a regularly scheduled flight, and hand them over to the buyer in Egypt. GermanMarkt facilitates the match and coordinates the handover; we do not manufacture, distribute, or warehouse the products.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, place an order, or sign up as a delivery partner. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Delivery partners must complete two-factor authentication (TOTP enrolment), provide a home address inside Germany, and keep their next-flight date current. We may suspend or close any account that violates these terms or our Community Guidelines.
4. Pricing and payment
All prices on the site are shown in Egyptian Pounds (EGP) and are fixed at the moment you check out. GermanMarkt is cash on delivery: you owe nothing until the delivery partner hands you the box in Egypt. We do not store card numbers, bank details, or any payment credentials.
The EGP price you see is computed from the EUR cost of each item at the live foreign-exchange rate the admin has saved, plus a service margin. Prices may move between visits while you browse, but once you place an order the total is locked. If foreign-exchange rates or store prices change after you check out, your COD total does not change.
If an item is unavailable at the European store when the delivery partner arrives, that item is removed from your order and your COD total drops automatically. See the Cancellation Policy for the full rules.
5. Cancellations, refusals, and disputes
Cancellation rights are described in the Cancellation Policy which forms part of these terms. In summary: you can self-cancel within 24 hours of placing the order as long as no partner has started shopping for it; after that you must email support.
If something is wrong with the goods at delivery you may refuse the box at the doorstep. If you discover a problem after accepting the box (wrong, damaged, counterfeit, or missing items), open a dispute from the Orders page within 72 hours. Disputes are reviewed by admins and resolved in writing, and every decision is recorded in our audit log.
6. Delivery and risk
The delivery partner has physical custody of your items between the European retail purchase and the handover in Egypt. GermanMarkt covers loss or damage in transit up to the listed price of the items. Risk transfers to the buyer at the moment the delivery partner hands over the box and the buyer accepts it.
Delivery timing depends on the partner’s flight schedule and we do not guarantee a specific delivery date. We show you the ticket’s expected window when one is published.
7. Authenticity
All products are sourced directly from the named European retail chains. Any item proven to be counterfeit will be treated as a violation of these terms by the partner who supplied it and handled under the dispute process. GermanMarkt is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by DM, Rossmann, Action, or any of the brands shown.
8. Acceptable use
You agree to use GermanMarkt only for lawful purposes, in good faith, and in line with our Community Guidelines. You may not: use the service to buy or resell counterfeit goods, submit false addresses, harass other users, attempt to circumvent the dispute or audit-log systems, or use automated tools to scrape the site at a rate that disrupts service.
9. Intellectual property
The GermanMarkt name, logo, and the source code of this site are our property. Product names, brand names, photos, and trademarks shown on the site belong to their respective owners and are displayed only to identify the products you may buy. Reviews you submit remain yours, but you grant us a non-exclusive royalty-free license to display them on the site.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that every item shown will be in stock at the European source store on the day a delivery partner arrives. We do not guarantee specific delivery dates beyond the published ticket window. Product information (ingredients, sizes, images) is pulled from the European retailer’s public listings and may occasionally be out of date.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GermanMarkt’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid (or owe) for the order in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or loss of goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify GermanMarkt and its delivery partners against any claim arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the service, including reasonable legal costs.
13. Termination
We may suspend or close your account at any time for breach of these terms, for fraud, or for repeated unwarranted refusals at the doorstep. Open orders at termination are either settled or cancelled, depending on the stage they were at and the outcome of any active dispute. You can close your own account at any time by emailing support@gm-egy.com; account closure does not erase records tied to completed orders (see the Privacy Policy for retention periods).
14. Force majeure
Neither party is responsible for failure to perform when prevented by events outside its reasonable control: natural disasters, government action, war, pandemic, airline disruption, or similar. Affected orders will be cancelled at no charge.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. We will attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute amicably; if that fails, the courts of Cairo have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing in this clause prevents a consumer from bringing a claim in their local courts where local law requires it.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app and the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the service after the change constitutes acceptance.
17. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Cancellation Policy, the Community Guidelines, and the Data Security page, are the entire agreement between you and GermanMarkt.
