About GermanMarkt
What is German Markt?
German Markt is an online marketplace that lets Egyptian buyers order authentic German beauty and personal-care products — sourced directly from dm, Rossmann, and Action — and have them carried to Egypt by independent travelers. You pay cash on delivery once the box reaches your door.
Who are the delivery partners?
They are Egyptians already flying back to Egypt from Germany — students, professionals, travelers visiting family. Each one is verified, sets a home address inside Germany, completes a two-factor security check, and is paid per kilo of product carried. They are not anonymous couriers; every order has a real person behind it.
Are you affiliated with dm-drogerie markt, Rossmann, or Action?
No. We are independent. We source our products from those retailers but we have no business or sponsorship relationship with them. Their trademarks belong to their respective owners and we display product names only to identify what we sell.
Authenticity
How do I know the products are real?
Every item is purchased inside a real German dm, Rossmann, or Action store by your delivery partner. We can provide a photo of the till receipt on request for any order. There is no middleman warehouse — the goods go from a German store shelf straight into a traveler's bag and to your door.
What happens if I suspect a counterfeit?
Open a dispute from the Orders page within 72 hours of receiving the box, attach photos, and we will review. If we agree the item is not authentic, we cancel the COD charge for that item and arrange pickup. The delivery partner who supplied it faces account suspension.
Pricing and payment
How is the EGP price calculated?
We take the live EUR price from the German store, multiply by the current EUR-EGP exchange rate, and add a service margin that covers the traveler payment, packaging, and platform costs. The price you see at checkout is locked — even if exchange rates or store prices move, your COD total stays the same.
Why is it cheaper than the imported version at my local mall?
Three reasons. (1) We buy in Germany at retail price, not at wholesale-import markup. (2) We do not pay storefront rent or international shipping containers. (3) Our delivery partners are travelers flying anyway, so their excess-baggage cost is negligible compared to commercial freight.
How do I pay?
Cash on delivery, in Egyptian Pounds, when the box arrives at your door. We never collect card numbers, bank details, or any payment credentials on this site.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The total shown at checkout is the total you pay. No customs charges, no card processing fees, no surprise add-ons.
Delivery
How long does delivery take?
It depends on your delivery partner's flight schedule. When you place an order it joins a queue of similar orders being bundled onto an upcoming flight. Most orders ship within about 2 weeks; some faster if a partner happens to be flying soon. You can see the expected window once a partner has accepted your order.
Can I track my order?
Yes. The Orders page shows a four-phase progress bar: Placed → Collected (your partner has bought the items in Germany) → At Delivery Centre (partner has landed in Egypt) → Delivered. Each phase updates as our admin team and the delivery partner mark it complete.
What happens if an item is out of stock at the German store?
The partner marks that item as unavailable. Your COD total automatically drops by the price of the missing item, and the rest of your order still ships. You will see a notice on your Orders page explaining what was dropped and how much you owe now.
Refunds and cancellations
Can I cancel my order?
You can self-cancel with one click on the Orders page during the 24 hours after you place the order, as long as no delivery partner has started shopping for it. After that, email support and we will cancel it manually if we can. See our Cancellation Policy for the full rules.
What if the box arrives damaged or wrong?
Refuse it at the doorstep — you owe nothing because nothing has been paid yet. The delivery partner returns the items to us and we follow up to figure out next steps.
What if I notice a problem after accepting the box?
Open a dispute from the Orders page within 72 hours, attach photos, and our team will review. If we agree the order did not meet expectations, we cancel the COD charge for the affected items and arrange pickup or replacement.
Account and privacy
Is it legal?
Yes. Personal-import allowances in Egypt cover small-quantity, non-commercial cosmetics and personal-care items. Each delivery partner carries a personal-allowance worth of goods, not commercial freight.
What data do you collect?
Name, email, phone or WhatsApp, shipping address, and order history. For delivery partners we also collect a home address in Germany, periodic GPS pings (only while signed in), and a two-factor authentication secret. We do not collect card data, government IDs, or biometric data. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
How can I become a delivery partner?
Visit the Carrier portal at /carrier. You need to be flying back to Egypt within 14 days, have a home address inside Germany, and complete a quick two-factor verification step. We pay €20 per kilo, in EGP at the live exchange rate, once the order settles.
Other
Do you ship outside Egypt?
Not yet. Our partners deliver only inside Egypt for now. Other countries are on the roadmap.
How do I contact support?
Email support@gm-egy.com — we reply within 24 hours. For order-specific issues the fastest route is to open a dispute from the Orders page; admins see those oldest-first.
